|
AZERI took control soon after the start
while off the inside into the first turn, controlled a moderate pace, shook
clear again second turn, maintained a comfortable advantage down the lane
under steady handling. WILD SPIRIT (CHI) unhurried early, moved closer along
the inside late in the second turn, angled out abruptly turning for home to
soundly bump STAR PARADE who in turn bothered ISLAND FASHION, asked for her
best, no match late. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY AND A CLAIM OF FOUL BY THE
RIDER OF STAR PARADE AGAINST WILD SPIRIT FOR INTERFERENCE ENTERING THE
STRETCH, THE RESULT WAS ALLOWED TO STAND. STAR PARADE (ARG) closest to the
winner, moved a bit closer into the far turn, soundly bumped by the runner up
exiting the final turn, could not keep up with that one for the runner up
spot the final furlong. ISLAND FASHION within striking distance well off the
rail, bothered when STAR PARADE came out due to a bump from WILD SPIRIT into
the stretch, came up empty in the late going. KEYS TO THE HEART went
singularly paced, no threat. GOLDEN SONATA fell back to trail by a wide
margin after the start, remained back, little late gain. |
