in tight on the first turn, raced well back for six furlongs, closed the gap
midway on the turn, steadied while blocked in traffic at the five-sixteenths
pole, made a run to reach contention in upper stretch then lacked a strong
closing response. SHARP LISA was strung out four wide on the first turn,
continued wide while in the middle of the pack to the far turn, lodged a mild
bid while being forced six wide at the quarter pole then flattened out.
CULINARY settled just off the early pace, moved into contention while four
wide leaving the backstretch, raced just off the pace while being carried
five wide on the turn then faded in the stretch. PLAY WITH FIRE failed to
mount a serious rally while four wide. SENSE OF STYLE broke in the air at the
start while coming away awkwardly, was bumped along the inside on the first
turn, raced well back for six furlongs, was behind a wall of horses on the
turn then lacked the needed response when called upon. CULTURE CLASH broke
outward and steadied at the start and was never close thereafter. MONA LISA
broke in the air at the start and never reached contention. HIGHER WORLD
drifted out while taking the lead on the first turn, dueled along the inside
for five furlongs and gave way. |

Race Summary |
|
SINGLETARY was rated
in good position between horses for five furlongs, waited patiently for room
while gaining on the turn, split horses while angling out at the top of the
stretch, took charge at the three-sixteenths pole, opened a clear advantage
in midstretch then held off ANTONIUS PIUS under steady right hand urging.
ANTONIUS PIUS steadied in tight on the first turn, raced well back for seven
furlongs, steadied sharply while in traffic on the turn, moved between horses
to get clear in upper stretch, lugged in while gaining in midstretch, closed
strongly from outside nearing the sixteenth pole then checked behind the
winner while lugging in again in the late stages. SIX PERFECTIONS (FR) was
unhurried for a half, launched a bid between horses on the far turn, steadied
in traffic midway on the turn, swung wide entering the stretch then rallied
belatedly to gain a share. SOARING FREE sprinted clear in the early stages,
raced uncontested on the lead for a half, continued on the front while saving
ground to the turn, relinquished the lead to the winner in upper stretch then
weakened from his early efforts. SILVER TREE was reserved for a half while
saving ground, rallied along the rail midway on the turn, was blocked along
the inside nearing the quarter pole, lodged a mild bid to reach contention in
upper stretch then flattened out. MUSICAL CHIMES raced well back for a half,
steadied while trapped between horses on the turn and in upper stretch then
lacked a strong closing bid. BLACKDOUN (FR) was outrun for five furlongs,
steadied sharply in traffic on the turn, swung seven wide entering the
stretch then failed to threaten thereafter. DIAMOND GREEN (FR) raced far back
for a half after breaking slowly, steadied along the rail behind a wall of
horses on the turn then failed to threaten while improving his position. MR O |

Race Summary |
|
SPEIGHTSTOWN was well
placed on the inside, saved ground on the turn, slipped through to make a bid
at the top of the stretch, edged clear into the final furlong and held well
under strong right hand urging. KELA was outrun early, raced three to four
wide on the turn, swung seven wide leaving the turn, drifted inward in upper
stretch and finished well while unable to reach the winner. MY COUSIN MATT
settled towards the rear of the field, angled in late on the backstretch,
saved ground on the turn, shifted out near the furlong marker and finished
willingly. BWANA CHARLIE lacked early speed, shifted five wide near the
quarter-pole, swung eight wide into the stretch and improved position. CAJUN
BEAT was ridden along on the outside, vied three to four wide on the turn,
lacked room near the sixteenth-pole and failed to rally. CLOCK STOPPER was
completely void of speed, saved ground on the turn, angled out in upper
stretch then again near the sixteenth-pole and failed to menace while
finishing with some interest. CHAMPALI shifted outside near the five-furlong
marker, was ridden along while three wide on the turn, bumped repeatedly with
OUR NEW RECRUIT near the three-sixteenths marker and came up empty. PT |

Race Summary |
|
WILKO settled on the
outside while three wide, made a four wide bid leaving the backstretch, moved
to three wide midway through the turn, dropped back passing the quarter-pole,
rallied again outside the furlong marker, surged to the lead near the sixteenth-pole
and inched clear under steady left hand encouragement. AFLEET ALEX bobbled at
the start then bumped with CONSOLIDATOR and ROMAN RULER, shifted four wide
early on the initial turn, settled on the outside, engaged the leaders while
five wide leaving the backstretch, dropped to four wide midway through the
turn, took the lead passing the quarter-pole, led gamely into the final
furlong, was collared near the sixteenth-pole then outfinished. SUN KING was
rated while eager to run on the inside, settled a bit on the backstretch,
moved through to contest the lead leaving the backstretch, dueled through the
turn, bumped with CONSOLIDATOR in upper stretch, battled gamely into the
final sixteenth and weakened slightly. CONSOLIDATOR was bumped at the start,
tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid between rivals entering the far
turn, dueled into the stretch, bumped with SUN KING inside the
three-sixteenths marker, fought determinedly into the final sixteenth and
gave way grudgingly. ROMAN RULER bumped with AFLEET ALEX after the start,
steadied off heels approaching the first turn, continued just off heels into
the backstretch, was hard held near the back of the field, saved ground on
the far turn, angled out sharply near the furlong marker and came up empty. PROUD
ACCOLADE leaned out at the start, settled between rivals, came under a ride
leaving the backstretch, moved around TWICE UNBRIDLED midway through the turn
and failed to respond. TWICE UNBRIDLED set the pace under moderate pressure,
steadied while being passed with three furlongs to run and stopped.
SCANDINAVIA hesitated at the start, raced three wide on the first turn, was
reserved near the back of the field, roused while three wide on the far turn,
moved to four wide near the quarter-pole and had nothing left. |
