Footnotes

PROSPECTIVE SAINT stalked the pace slightly off the rail, closed the gap on the turn, angled outside the winner entering the stretch, accelerated to the front nearing the furlong marker then edged clear while being kept to the task. SHARI'S GOLD SOLE settled in good position while saving ground, lagged behind a bit on the turn, angled out at the top of the stretch then outfinished the pacesetter for the place. CEDAR SUMMER raced well back for a half after breaking a bit slowly, swung four wide entering the stretch then rallied belatedly in the middle of the track. LADY SABRINA sprinted clear soon after the start, raced uncontested on the lead into upper stretch then faltered in the final eighth. AUDREY HEP raced just off the pace in the two path to the top of the stretch and lacked a strong closing bid. SALINA'S GIFT never reached contention.

Footnotes

DESPERADO KID had good early speed between foes then dueled outside a rival, inched away in the stretch, drifted in a bit past the eighth pole, was straightened with the left handed whip and proved best. BLAZING SONG dueled a bit off the rail then along the inside, altered course outside off the winner's heels past the eighth pole and just held second. MYSTIC RUNNER angled in outside a rival then saved ground off the pace, went around a foe on the turn, angled back in, put in a bid along the rail in the stretch and missed the place. INDIES (GB) stalked the pace outside a rival on the backstretch, split horses early on the turn, came out into the stretch and lacked the needed rally. HONEST CHANCE unhurried off the inside on the backstretch and turn, went outside a foe into the stretch and was not a threat. HEROIC MOMENT had speed three deep then stalked outside or off the rail, came three wide into the stretch and weakened. ARRIVE sent up inside to stalk the pace, was in a bit tight off heels nearing the turn, came just off the rail in the stretch and gave way. ROSINSKY allowed to settle along the inside, saved ground off the pace and was outrun.

SMOOTH AS SILVER was unhurried along the backstretch, closed the gap from outside to reach contention on the turn, circled four wide entering the stretch, made a run to threaten in midstretch then wore down RAPPEL in the final seventy yards. RAPPEL pressed the early pace from outside, moved up three wide to challenge leaving the turn, surged to the front a furlong out, battled into deep stretch then yielded grudgingly. SLICK AS SLEW sprinted clear soon after the start, set the pace along the inside for a half, fought gamely into deep stretch and weakened late. DANISH DANCER (ARG) raced in the middle of the pack for a half, waited patiently for room behind a wall of horses on the turn, altered course to the outside in upper stretch then rallied belatedly in the middle of the track. KASPAROV raced up close along the rail to the top of the stretch and weakened. DEFY LOGIC was unhurried after breaking a bit slowly, made a strong run while four wide to challenge on the turn then flattened out. ARBITRATE failed to mount a serious rally.

CHAMPALI forced the pace between horses into midstretch, but couldn't stay with the winner through the final eighth. STRENGTH AND HONOR set the pace under pressure along the rail into midstretch and weakened from his early efforts. SALTY GENIUS dropped back soon after the start, raced well back for a half, circled four wide into the stretch then closed late in the middle of the track. PUD broke slowly, raced erratically along the backstretch, was outrun tot the turn then failed to threaten while improving his position. Footnotes

SPEIGHTSTOWN broke out a bit, sped to the early lead, set the pace toward the inside, inched away in the stretch and won clear under some urging. MCCANN'S MOJAVE stalked the pace three deep on the backstretch and into the turn, was between foes midway on the bend, continued off the rail into the stretch and was second best. PUBLICATION dropped back off the rail early then angled in, came out leaving the turn and a bit wide into the stretch and picked up the show. CONGAREE chased off the rail on the backstretch, advanced three deep on the turn to loom a threat, lacked the needed response, then drifted inward in deep stretch and weakened. NEW YORK HERO stalked the winner between horses on the backstretch and into the turn, continued outside a rival leaving the turn and also weakened. SAINT WAKI dropped back without early speed, angled in early and saved ground but was outrun. PRIVATE HORDE squeezed back at the start, pulled his way up inside to stalk the pace on the backstretch and turn but had little left for the stretch.
