Footnotes

FUNNY CIDE came away well, showed good speed while in hand, let HOST (CHI) make the pace for the opening three quarters, took over from that rival when asked, drew clear into the stretch then dug in gamely and held off EVENING ATTIRE under a steady drive. EVENING ATTIRE was rated along while between rivals, came wide for the drive, responded when roused in upper stretch and finished gamely outside but could not get by the winner. HOST (CHI) showed in front soon after the start, set the pace along the inside, could not stay with the winner into the stretch and tired in the final furlong. GROUND STORM was hard ridden while three wide and tired in the stretch. LOVING (BRZ) raced inside and had no response when roused.
