MADDALENA gained the lead inside at the
start, shook off HEED MY DECISION leaving the turn, drew off and maintained
her advantage under strong hand urging. SUTTON'S BAY, outsprinted early,
raced off the inside on the turn, angled to the rail in the final furlong and
was up for the place. COOL SPELL, outrun early, raced in behind foes to the
lane, eased out four wide and offered a minor gain while not a serious
threat. PARAGON QUEEN, well placed from the outset, moved inside on the turn,
angled thee wide for the drive, was just off the winner for the final furlong
and flattened out. RUNWAY MODEL, bumped at the start by HEED MY DECISION and
forced to check, trailed briefly, reached contention four wide, angled six
wide for the drive and lacked a late response. HEED MY DECISION ducked in at
the start bumping RUNWAY MODEL, chased the winner while angling in four wide
and faltered leaving the turn. UPSHOT tired early. MARCHELLA, off the inside,
was six or seven wide in the drive and never a threat. |

INDY GROOVE tracked the dueling leaders
from early on while three or four wide, remained in that position on the
track for the drive and was under extreme pressure to wear down FREEI in the
closing strides. FREEI was close up inside early, gained the advantage early
on the backstretch, managed a clear lead into the final furlong and couldn't
contain the winner's surge. CAROLINA ROSE, within striking distance to the
stretch while inside throughout, remained prominently into the final furlong
and came up empty. PALAESTRA gained a slight edge early while three wide,
surrendered the lead to FREEI from the inside, held on well until the final
quarter and faltered. QUICK TEMPER, four or five wide throughout, was
finished upon going six furlongs. HARDERTHANPRIDE raced four or five wide and
was finished after five furlongs. THRONE, sluggish to start and angled
inside, never was close and was pulled up just after going six furlongs. |

Footnotes |
|
|
INDYGAL, bumped at the break by WICKEDLY
WISE, was never far back, stalked the pace four wide, inched to challenge
nearing the final furlong and was fully extended to be along in time. After
pulling up on the backstretch, INDYGAL unseated her rider. WICKEDLY WISE came
out at the start bumping INDYGAL, was never far back, moved three or four
wide into the lane, was bumped by FRANSCAT at the furlong grounds when that
one came in, then came out brushing that one in deep stretch when outgamed.
FRANSCAT contested the pace from early on while outside of HEARTBREAKER,
gained a slight edge, made the pace into the final furlong, leaned in and
bumped with WICKEDLY WISE, then was brushed by that one approaching the wire.
GOLD RINGER ducked out on KRISTY BEETHOVEN at the start, moved inside on the
turn, angled four wide into the lane but lacked a closing account. WATEREE,
five or six wide for a half, angled seven wide for the drive but lacked a
closing account. TWIRLAWAY bore in at the start on KRISTY BEETHOVEN, raced nine
or 10 wide early, edged in five or six wide on the turn and failed to rally.
KRISTY BEETHOVEN, slammed at the start and shut off, moved inside on the turn
and never was prominent. HEARTBREAKER gained a slim lead inside early, dueled
with FRANSCAT and weakened upon going a half. WHITE OAK, inside early, moved
five wide on the turn, held on well for a half and tired. |

GALLOPING GAL, reserved early and eased
back near the inside, was unhurried for six furlongs, came out eight wide
entering the lane, then closed determinedly to be along in time. GINGHAM AND
LACE, nicely placed in behind the dueling leaders early, advanced four wide
approaching the stretch, took over, opened a clear advantage but couldn't
handle the winner's surge. DYNAVILLE, unhurried for a half and five wide,
advanced steadily from that position on the course nearing the final quarter,
continued prominently into the final furlong but couldn't muster the needed
response. VOUS gained a contending position early while racing between horses
four wide, was asked for her best at the five-sixteenths pole but was empty
when the test came. BAXTER HALL, steadied in tight near the inside
approaching the first turn, was unhurried, advanced inside the winner
approaching the stretch five wide but couldn't sustain the needed momentum.
THORNHILL, near the inside early, eased out between horses entering the
backstretch, raced within striking distance into the lane and flattened out.
LAST WALTZ contested the pace from early on while outside GIMME SOME LOVE,
battled close up into the stretch and tired. GIMME SOME LOVE gained a slim
lead inside early, dueled with LAST WALTZ, made the pace into the stretch and
faltered. PINK CHAMPAGNE, in contention near the inside, lost position on the
far turn, came out between foes four wide into the lane and never menaced.
TEE'S PEARL tracked the leaders five wide for five furlongs and faded.
SWEEPIT tired upon going a half. |

CONGRATS gained the lead near the inside
early, went along under careful handling, was displaced on the front-end and
dropped back third just before going six furlongs, regained the advantage in
the upper stretch, drew clear and continued under urging to prevail. PERFECT
DRIFT, never far back and racing between horses early, eased out five or six
wide concluding the second turn, had aim at the winner in the drive and
wasn't good enough. KODEMA went up early to press the winner three or four
wide, put a head in front for a stride just before going six furlongs, then
weakened in the drive. SARAVA, never far back while racing in behind horses,
was three or four wide entering the upper stretch, moved nearer to the rail
in the final furlong but couldn't muster a serious response. CLASSIC PAR,
reserved early along the inside, came out seven or eight wide for the drive,
reached contention a furlong out and failed to offer a further account. DEVIL
TIME, checked lightly along the inside approaching the first turn, raced
inside most of the way and weakened entering the stretch. SPANISH EMPIRE
settled within easy striking distance early, made a bold run five wide on the
far turn, gained a slim, brief lead entering the stretch but faltered soon
after. RIVER MOUNTAIN RD moved in behind rivals early and wasn't a factor. |

LYDGATE worked her way in four wide
concluding the backstretch, angled six abreast when straightened for the
drive, then closed under solid right-handed encouragement to prevail. MIGHTY
BEAU went up outside front-running BAYOU BUSTER early, took over on the turn,
opened a clear advantage in the upper stretch but couldn't handle the winner
late. BANNED IN BOSTON, within striking distance while racing in behind the
leaders to the stretch, eased out between foes six wide for the drive and was
slowly gaining. CAT SINGER came out at the start bumping TAKE ACHANCE ON ME,
followed the leaders in a striking position five or six wide into the final
furlong and lacked a serious late account. TAKE ACHANCE ON ME, bumped at the
start by CAT SINGER and forced out on FISCALLY SPEAKING, raced four or five
wide, came to the extreme outside to be 10 abreast for the drive and offered
a mild gain. SEVENTH INNING followed the leaders in a striking position four
or five wide into the final furlong and flattened out. FISCALLY SPEAKING
broke awkwardly and sluggishly, was bumped and checked afterwards, raced
eight wide early, edged in around the turn, came out again to be eight or
nine wide for the stretch run and improved position while unable to menace.
DAY TRADER came out and brushed the side of the gate, followed the leaders
four or five wide, loomed between foes for the last eighth but came up empty.
TESTIFY, outrun from the beginning and three or four wide, eased out nine
wide for the drive but failed to rally. CHOSEN CHIEF raced in contention near
the inside, was steadied behind rivals nearing the lane, angled out three or
four wide and weakened. BAYOU BUSTER sprinted clear early, lost the advantage
midway on the turn to MIGHTY BEAU from the outside and faded thereafter. |

LEAD STORY, reserved along the inside
soon after the start, remained inside while advancing on the far turn, eased
out between rivals four wide at the quarter-mile ground, wrested command,
opened a clear advantage and held sway under stout left-handed encouragement.
YELL, in and along the inside from early on, angled outside the winner for
the drive and was slowly gaining late. CAT FIGHTER gained the lead early, raced
near the inside, made the pace until entering the stretch and weakened.
SIGHTSEEK, forwardly placed between foes early, continued between rivals to
stick her head in front for a stride entering the upper stretch but faltered
soon after. LA REASON, four or five wide, moved to the two path on the
backstretch, came out again to follow the winner five or six wide into the
lane but flattened out. POCUS HOCUS broke sluggishly and awkwardly, tracked
the pace four wide for a half, weakened thereafter and wasn't persevered with
in the drive when hopelessly beaten. |

KITTEN'S JOY ducked in at the start and
bumped the side of the gate, was checked and bumped soon after by PRINCE
ARCH, eased back last, swung out six wide while under rating on the
backstretch, continued in that position on the course while advancing into
the stretch and drove clear under hand urging. PRINCE ARCH broke out on the
winner at the start, settled near the inside, raced closer than usual early,
inched up two or three wide on the far turn, angled five wide when
straightened for the drive and finished willingly for second position. CAPO
gained a slight edge inside, raced under light rating while dueling with
GRAND HERITAGE, shook off that one nearing the lane, held on well until about
the final furlong and weakened. BRASS HAT went up soon after the break to
track the leaders four or five wide, remained prominent into the upper
stretch but flattened out late. EL PRADO ROB, bumped just after the start by
the winner when that one was forced out, settled within easy striking
distance while in behind the leaders, remained prominent in behind pacesetting
CAPO into the final furlong but was empty thereafter. LEVEL PLAYINGFIELD,
rated along three or four wide for six furlongs, angled seven wide into the
lane but failed to rally. GRAND HERITAGE went up early to contest the pace
outside of CAPO, battled close up to the final quarter and faltered. KNOX,
bumped at the start by ARCHIE B, tired after five furlongs. ARCHIE B came out
at the start bumping KNOX at the start and tired on the far turn. |
