Footnotes |
|
|
WATER CANNON moved three wide under a
snug hold to take a clear advantage around the first turn, angled in entering
the backstretch, rated back off ACCLIMATE and WANAKA near the four and a half
furlong pole when those two were eager to go on, awaited room inside from the
far turn to the head of the lane, eased off the inside in upper stretch,
closed sharply when finding room between rivals leaving the eighth pole and outfinished EASTERN BAY under a hand ride. EASTERN BAY
was taken to rate towards the inside early on, moved closer leaving the far
turn, angled out five wide entering the lane, rallied to a brief lead near
the sixteenth marker, finished gamely but just could not hold off the winner.
WANAKA was taken four wide on the first turn, moved up three to entertain the
pace mid way down the backstretch, dueled two wide from the half mile marker
to the quarter pole and continued willingly to save the show. ACCLIMATE was
sent up two wide near the five furlong marker to battle for the lead, dueled
inside of WANAKA to quarter pole, held a short advantage past the eighth pole
and gave way grudgingly. CAPAC , four wide the first turn, moved up two to three
wide nearing the far turn, was pushed along mid way on the final turn, lodged
a mild four wide bid entering the stretch then weakened in the final furlong.
FINE STRIKE , three wide early, failed to menace.
DATA STREAM saved ground in early backstretch and failed to threaten. |
