PREACHINATTHEBAR stalked three deep on the first turn then off the rail on the backstretch, bid outside the pacesetter to take a short lead on the second turn, inched clear in the stretch and held on gamely under left handed urging. ST AVERIL four wide on the first turn, chased outside on the backstretch and second turn, ranged up three deep into the stretch and closed willingly to just miss. HARVARD AVENUE angled in and settled outside a rival, continued just off the inside leaving the backstretch and outside a foe on the second turn, came out into the stretch and gained the show late. CHEIRON chased inside then a bit off the rail, went outside a rival into and on the second turn and three deep into the stretch and lacked the needed rally. LAST MINUTE DETAIL stalked the leader just off the inside, angled in on the second turn, came out into the stretch and weakened. ODDS ON sped between horses to the early lead, set the pace inside, fought back inside the winner on the second turn but weakened in the stretch. ACTION THIS DAY pulled his way along inside to stalk the pace, came a bit off the rail on the second turn, angled out some into the stretch and also weakened. TOASTED broke a bit slowly and awkwardly, was climbing early, settled off the rail, angled in leaving the second turn and did not rally. LADITUDE stumbled a step out of the gate and lost the rider. The stewards held an inquiry into the start and determined LADITUDE stumbled of his own accord.
