SOARING FREE bumped after the start by PRINCE ALPHIE and briefly in front, raced between foes while vying for the advantage, inched to the fore on the turn, was briefly headed from the inside in the upper stretch by CHOSEN CHIEF, regained the advantage, then edged clear late under strong handling. CAT SINGER went up to force the pace early while three abreast, battled on about even terms until leaving the quarter-mile ground and weakened. DAY TRADER gained a striking position early while working his way in five wide, remained prominent off the inside into the final furlong and flattened out. RED LIGHTNING, within striking distance, edged in behind the leaders on the turn, continued three wide into the stretch and was empty the last eighth. ABDERIAN (IRE), five or six wide on the backstretch while outrun, came out 10 wide for the stretch run and improved position while unable menace. FISCALLY SPEAKING never reached contention. BLAKELOCK, six wide much of the way, tired in the drive. DOC D, checked along the inside at the half-mile ground, weakened soon after. PRINCE ALPHIE came out at the start bumping the winner, was bumped soon after by CHOSEN CHIEF when that one came out, then never reached contention.
