Race Summary

PRINCE ARCH broke out bumping COOL CONDUCTOR at the start, settled inside, saved ground when rallying into the stretch, worked his way out five wide in the final sixteenth and closed relentlessly under pressure to be along in time. KITTEN'S JOY, unhurried early, edged up four or five wide on the backstretch, commenced his bid three furlongs out, took over nearing the final furlong, opened a clear lead, then failed to contain the winner's surge. COOL CONDUCTOR, bumped by the winner at the start, moved to the fore near the inside soon after, made the pace until the final furlong and faltered. TERROPLANE (FR), never far back while racing between foes, eased outside rivals to be seven wide at the quarter-mile ground, remained prominent into the final furlong but was empty late. MIGHTY MILITARY, forwardly placed inside early, was shuffled back a bit on the far turn, came out five or six wide for the drive and failed to respond. CAPO, unhurried early, raced five or six wide, was between horses while continuing off the inside into the final furlong and flattened out. MORE BOURB followed the leaders in a striking position five wide to the stretch and tired. RADIANT CAT, inside early, moved out six or seven wide on the backstretch, continued wide and never menaced. BOGANGLES chased front-running COOL CONDUCTOR from between horses four wide for six furlongs and tired.

Race Summary

SUAVE tracked front-running J TOWN from early on while three or four wide, was asked for more leaving the three furlong marker, took over nearing the final sixteenth and drove clear. J TOWN gained the lead early, edged near the inside while opening a clear advantage, made the pace into the final furlong but wasn't a match for the winner late. ECCLESIASTIC, well placed near the inside to the stretch, eased out four or five wide for the drive but lacked a late response. TWO DOWN AUTOMATIC stalked the pace four or five wide, moved with the winner while outside that one into the stretch but weakened. CHIPPEWA TRAIL hoped while breaking slowly, moved inside, made a mild run near the inside into the upper stretch but couldn't sustain the needed momentum. ASCERTAIN (IRE), outrun early, angled in a bit, circled horses 10 wide into the upper stretch and offered a minor gain. GRAN PROSPECT, outrun to the stretch, came out six or seven wide and improved position. TEXAS DEPUTY raced near the inside and failed to rally. INDIAN WAR DANCE raced forwardly for six furlongs and tired. GRANDE'S GRANDSLAM wasn't a factor. SHANIKO failed to menace. COURAGEOUS ACT faded after six furlongs.

Race Summary

COLONIAL COLONY, reserved early and angled in to race two or three wide, moved out five or six wide entering the backstretch, was put to a drive leaving the half-mile ground while continuing well off the inside, engaged SOUTHERN IMAGE a furlong out, headed that one about the sixteenth pole, lost the advantage back to SOUTNERN IMAGE when bumped by that one soon after, then came again under vigorous hand urging to prevail in the last lunge. SOUTHERN IMAGE, well placed inside from early on, was a bit rank during the much of the backstretch when lacking room and pocketed inside of MIDWAY ROAD and behind front-running PEACE RULES, eased outside latter at the five-sixteenth when an opening appeared, reached the front in the upper stretch while four or five wide, was headed about the sixteenth-pole from the outside by COLONIAL COLONY, recaptured the advantage soon after when roused left-handed, bumped with COLONIAL COLONY, then was outfinished. PERFECT DRIFT, lightly rated within easy striking distance near the inside from early on, eased out five wide approaching the stretch, made a bold run outside the top two into the final furlong but flattened out when the test came. PEACE RULES moved to the fore near the inside early, opened a clear advantage, made the pace into the upper stretch and weakened. BEST MINISTER, lightly rated early while tracking the leaders four or five wide, was with the winner while inside that one leaving the backstretch but couldn't keep pace. MIDWAY ROAD hopped at the start, moved up soon after to press pacesetting PEACE RULES three or four wide, continued forwardly until nearing the stretch and faded.

Race Summary

SENOR SWINGER, in hand early, was positioned four or five wide, was patiently handled, came out six wide when advancing into the upper stretch, reached the front leaving the sixteenth pole and edged clear under hand urging. HARD BUCK (BRZ), well placed inside from early on, was pocketed inside nearing the end of the backstretch when racing behind MAJESTIC THIEF and inside of EVERYTHING TO GAIN, eased out between horses three or four wide for the drive, was with the winner while inside that one in the final furlong and wasn't good enough. MAJESTIC THIEF gained the advantage near the inside early, shook off a challenge from RESTAGE on the far turn, managed a clear lead into the final furlong but weakened. RESTAGE moved up early to press front-running MAJESTIC THIEF under light rating four wide, offered an earnest bid nearing the stretch but couldn't sustain the needed momentum. CLASSIC PAR settled in behind horses early, raced near the inside to the lane, worked his way out seven wide in the final furlong but lacked a closing bid. EVERYTHING TO GAIN stalked the pace four or five wide into the final furlong and flattened out in the drive. MAJOR RHYTHM failed to seriously menace.

Race Summary

THERE RUNS HATTIE, never far back while following the dueling leaders four wide, swept to the front in the upper stretch, opened a clear advantage, then gamely held sway under left-handed urging. SOURIS ducked out at the start bumping JENNY'S PROSPECTOR, settled inside, came out between foes into the stretch, bumped with CAHILL HOLLY, continued five wide and was gaining late. CAHILL HOLLY, well placed while three or four wide, bumped with SOURIS at the three-sixteenths pole and was empty late. JENNY'S PROSPECTOR, bumped at the start by SOURIS, went up at once to vie for the lead outside of VICKI VALLENCOURT, gained a slight, brief lead on the turn but tired in the drive. VICKI VALLENCOURT battled for the lead inside of JENNY'S PROSPECTOR for a half and faltered.
