Footnotes |
|
|
SIR SHACKLETON taken in hand and tucked
inside at the break, sat patient off a moderate pace to the 1/2 mile pole,
roused to contention advancing through the final turn, continued to respond
getting to a weary BRITT'S JULE outside the 1/16 pole, was full of run in the
closing stages drawing away to the wire. POLLARD'S VISION was well placed
laying close up 4 wide into the backstretch, stalked with even action to the
3/8 pole, asked into final turn putting in an extended bid near mid track in
upper stretch, gave a willing response salvaging place in the final yards.
BRITT'S JULES broke alertly to go clear under little pressure, allowed to
measure on moderate splits to the 1/2 mile pole, edged away into final turn,
taken off the inside entering the stretch, became leg weary inside the 1/16
pole, had little left at the end. AVID SKIER came away well to lay close up,
stalked BRITT'S JULES on modest opening fractions, remained a threat on the
final turn, began to weaken in upper stretch, wore down gradually under a
drive. FANTASTICAT off slowly, trailed well back to the 1/2 mile pole, kept
along the inside into stretch, was no late factor.
MISTER FOTIS prompted close up from the break, chased for a 1/2 mile, wavered
leaving the backstretch, had nothing left for drive and was put away.
ECCLESIASTIC dropped back at the break, raced evenly to the 1/2 mile pole,
still in contention on far turn, wilted at the head of stretch, was eased to
the wire. |
